An Ant stood by a river to quench his thirst, but tumbled in and almost drowned. A Dove, sitting on a nearby tree, saw the Ant in danger; plucking off a leaf, she dropped it into the water so that the Ant, mounting it, was carried safely to the bank. A little later a hunter was just about to cast his net over the Dove, when the Ant, seeing the danger, bit the hunter, which made him drop the net, and the Dove flew safely away.
