[12월 23일]

Students in Class 101 are having a meeting in their classroom.

101반 학생들이 교실에서 회의하고 있다.

They plan to visit a nursing home and spend some time with the people there.

그들은 양로원을 방문해서 그곳에 있는 분들과 시간을 보낼 계획을 세운다.

“Let’s give them some gifts.”

“그분들께 선물을 드리자.”

“Good idea. But how can we get the money?”

“좋은 생각이야. 그런데 어떻게 돈을 구하지?”

“We can raise money in a fun way.

 

“우리는 재미있는 방법으로 모금할 수 있어.

Each student brings a special item to school and sells it to someone else.”

학생들 각자 특별한 물건을 학교로 가져와서 다른 사람에게 파는 거야.”

“Sounds good. Let’s invite our parents and teachers, too.”

“좋은 생각이야. 우리 부모님들과 선생님들도 초대하자.”

"That'll be great."

“그거 좋겠다.”

[12월 27일]

 

There are students, teachers, and parents in Classroom 101.

101반 교실에 학생들, 선생님들, 부모님들이 모여 있다.

Some of them are talking about their special items.

그들 중 몇몇이 그들의 특별한 물건에 관해 이야기하고 있다.

I moved here from Ulsan last year.

저는 작년에 울산에서 여기로 전학 왔습니다.

At first, I didn’t have many friends here.

처음에는 여기에 친구들이 별로 없었어요.

I often played with this ball alone.

저는 종종 혼자 이 공으로 놀았어요.

 

A few weeks later, there was a soccer game in PE class.

몇 주 뒤에 체육 시간에 축구 경기가 있었어요.

I scored two goals, and my team won.

제가 두 골을 넣어서 우리 팀이 이겼습니다.

After that, I made a lot of friends.

그 이후로 저는 친구들을 많이 사귀었어요.

So, to me, this soccer ball is more special than a World Cup match ball.

그래서 제게 이 축구공은 월드컵 공인구보다 더 특별합니다.

“I’ll buy it for 20,000 won. My son will love it.”

“20,000원에 그걸 살게요. 우리 아들이 좋아할 거예요.”

이것은 비틀스의 음반이에요.

It’s older than you.

이 음반은 여러분보다 나이가 더 많아요.

My dad gave me this album on my 13th birthday.

저희 아버지가 이 음반을 제 열세 번째 생일에 제게 주셨어요.

I liked the songs on this album very much.

저는 이 음반에 수록된 노래들을 무척 좋아했습니다.

My love for music started with this album.

음악에 대한 제 사랑은 이 음반과 함께 시작되었어요.

Now I’m a music teacher.

지금 저는 음악 선생님이고요.

So this album is special to me.

그래서 이 음반은 제게 특별합니다.

“I’ll pay 5,000won for it!”

“제가 그것에 5,000원을 낼게요!”

여러분은 제 특별한 물건을 볼 수 없습니다.

I can go shopping for you.

저는 여러분 대신 쇼핑을 갈 수 있습니다.

“You’re stronger than me, right? I’ll buy your time for 30,000won."

“나보다 힘이 센 거 맞지? 너의 시간을 30,000원에 살게.”

Some students go to a local market and buy socks, gloves, and some fruit.

몇몇 학생들이 지역 시장에 가서 양말, 장갑과 과일을 산다.

Others practice popular songs in the classroom.

다른 학생들은 교실에서 유행가를 연습한다.

It is the morning of New Year’s Day.

새해 첫날 아침이다.

The students are on their way to the nursing home.

학생들은 양로원으로 가는 길이다.

They are carrying a gift bag in each hand.

그들은 양손에 선물 가방을 들고 있다.

The air is very cold, but they feel warm inside.

공기는 매우 차갑지만, 마음은 따뜻하다.
