네가 하는 모든 것은 너에 대한 무언가를 말한다

Everything you do says something about you.

네가 사용하는 언어, 네가 입는 옷, 심지어 네가 기르는 애완동물조차 네가 어떤 사함인지 어떻게든 보여준다

The language you use, the clothes you wear, and even the pets you raise somehow show what kind of person you are.

네가 그리는 것들도 많이 다르지 않다

The things you draw are not much different. 

네가 그리는 것, 네가 어떻게 그것을 그리는가는 너의 성격과 관계가 있다

What you draw and how you draw it are related to your personality.

의사들은 사람들을 더 잘 이해하기 위해서 다양한 그림그리기 검사들을 사용해 왔다

Doctors have been using various drawing tests to better understand people.

그 테스트 중 하나는 빗속의 사람 그리기 검사이다. 아래 그림을 자세히 보아라.

One of those tests is the Draw-a-Person-in-the-Rain(DAPR) test. Study the picture below.

그림 A의 사람은 가벼운 빗속에서 우산을 들고 있다

The person in Drawing A is holding an umbrella in a light rain.

반면에 그림B의 사람은 심한 빗속에 있고 우산도 없다

On the other hand, the person in Drawing B is in a heavy rain and has no umbrella.

또한 그림 B의 사람 위에는 어두운 구름들이 있다

Also, there are dark clouds above the person in Drawing B. 

이 차이점들은 무엇을 뜻할 수 있을까?

What can these differences mean?

첫 번째로 비는 그림을 그린 사람이 받고 있는 스트레스이다

First, the rain shows the stress the person who drew the picture is under.

빗방울이 클수록, 비가 더 세차게 내릴수록 스트레스도 크다

The bigger the drops are or the more heavily the rain is falling, the bigger the stress is. 

구름이 의미하는 것은 일어나기를 기다리는 문제들을 의미한다 그래서 큰 구름은 그린사람이 미래에 대해 매우 희망적이지 않음을 보여준다

The clouds mean problems waiting to happen, so a big cloud shows the drawer is not very hopeful about the future.

두 번째로 우산은 스트레스 상황에서 그 사람이 가지고 있는 보호기제를 뜻한다

Second, the umbrella means the protection the person has in a stressful situation.

큰 우산은 그린 사람이 많은 계획들과 보호기제를 가지고 있음을 보여준다

A big umbrella shows that the drawer has a lot of plans and protection.

만약 그림에 우산이 없다면 그린사람은 어려운 상황을 대처할 어떤 방법도 가지고 있지 않다.

If there's no umbrella in the drawing, the drawer does not have any means to deal with difficult situations.

세 번째로 사람의 그림에 있는 세부사항들은 스트레스 아래에 그린사람의 태도와 관련이 있다

Third, the details in the drawing of the person have to do with the drawer's attitude under stress.

예를 들어, 얼굴이 없는 사람의 그린 어떤 사람은 사람들의 주의를 끌기를 원하지 않는다

For example, someone who draws a person without a face does not want to draw people's attention to himself or herself.

종이의 오른쪽에 사람을 그린 어떤 사람은 미래와 만날 준비가 되어 있다.

Someone who draws the person on the right side of the paper is ready to meet the future.

반면에 왼쪽에 사람을 그린 어떤 사람은 과거에 일어난 일들에 대해 걱정할 지도 모른다

On the other hand, someone who draws the person on the left side may be worried about things that have happened in the past.

이것들은 그림의 각 부분의 가능한 의미들 중 일부이다.

These are some of the possible meaning of each part of the drawing.

이제 돌아가서 두 개의 그림을 보아라. 그것들을 스스로 읽으려고 노력해 봐라.

Now, go back and look at the two drawings. Try reading them yourself.
