M: Good morning, Jane.
W: Good morning, Mr. Smith.
M: Thanks for volunteering to work at our senior
citizen’s center again.
W: I’m happy to help. And I brought some snacks for the elderly.
M: How considerate of you! Last time you donated some books. Everyone really enjoyed reading them.
W: It was my pleasure. So, what am I supposed to do today? Should I prepare lunch like I did before?
M: There are some other volunteers today, and they’ll do that work.
W: Good. Then what would you like me to do?
M: Well, you could do the dishes or clean the laundry room.
W: I’m good at washing dishes. So I’ll do that.
M: Great. We’ll have someone else clean the laundry room.

[Telephone rings.]
M: Hello. Viva Airlines.
W: Hi, I think I made a mistake while booking online.
M: I’m sorry to hear that. Can you tell me what the problem was in more detail?
W: Sure. I just checked the confirmation email and noticed that my name is spelled wrong.
M: Okay. Your name needs to be the same as the one in your passport.
W: That’s what I thought. I accidentally misspelled my name, J-U-L-E instead of J-U-L-I-E.
M: Don’t worry. We can help you correct it.
W: Thanks. I’m so relieved. Then what should I do?
M: May I have your name and booking number?
W: Yeah. I’m Julie Rosa and the booking number is 356790.
M: [Typing sound] Okay. Then, please send an email with a copy of your passport to our airline email address.
W: All right, I’ll do it right now.

M: Good afternoon, Ms. Taylor.
W: Oh, Brian? Come on in. What’s up?
M: I have something to tell you about our school band.
W: What is it?
M: As you know, the local high school band contest is coming up.
W: Yes, it’s just two weeks away.
M: And the problem is that we don’t have a room to practice in around our campus.
W: Where are you practicing now?
M: We’re renting a music studio on the west side of town. It’s far from here and really inconvenient.
W: Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. I’m sure that’s been costing you a lot of money.
M: Yeah. So would you try to find a room on campus where we can practice?
W: Sure. I’ll ask around and let you know.
M: All right. Thank you so much.

M: Naomi, it’s Saturday. Are you going out today?
W: Oh, Dad. Probably not. I was just planning to stay home today.
M: Oh. Are you free then?
W: Not really. I have to work on my science project. It’s due on Monday.
M: How long do you think you’ll need to work on it?
W: Probably the whole day. I need to collect some materials and write the report.
M: I see. I was hoping we could play table tennis together.
W: I’d love to, but I don’t think I can play today because my racket needs new rubber on it, too.
M: Really? Then I’ll take it to the shop and have it repaired for you today.
W: Thank you, Dad. I’ll try to finish my report today so we can definitely play tomorrow.
M: Great.
W: I’m looking forward to it.
남: Naomi, 토요일이야. 오늘 외출할 거니?

M: Honey, why don’t we clean up the house today?
W: Good idea. We’ve put it off for too long.
M: Where should we start?
W: Let’s start by taking out our fall clothes and putting our summer clothes in storage.
M: Good idea.
W: We should organize the bookshelf in the living room, too.
M: Oh, that’s right. Let’s do that first. It’s filled with books we’ll probably never read again.
W: Especially the children’s books.
M: Then could you pick out old books we don’t need any more? I’ll go get a box for the books.
W: Okay. I think it’d be nice to donate them to the library.
M: Sounds like a great idea. They’ll appreciate them.

W: Honey, is there anything you want to do this weekend?
M: No. I feel like just resting at home.
W: Yeah, you must be really tired from working on your big project at work these days.
M: Indeed. I’m so glad it’s over.
W: Then how about I take the kids on a hike this weekend? You’ll be able to get a nice comfortable rest at home.
M: Thanks, honey, but will you be okay to take the kids by yourself? You’re tired from work, too.
W: No problem. I’ll be happy to do that.
M: Okay. Thanks. Oh, Saturday won’t work, though.
The kids have a dentist appointment.
W: Oh, yeah. I forgot. Then I’ll take them to the dentist on Saturday.
M: That would be great. Thanks.
W: What time is the appointment?
M: Just a minute. I’ll look it up in my scheduler and give you all the information.
W: Okay.

W: Harry, have you heard there’s a snowman contest being held in Central Square next month?
M: Of course! I’m actually on the organization committee!
W: Oh, really? I didn’t know that.
M: Yeah. The community center where I volunteer asked if I’d be on the committee, so I said okay.
W: That’s cool. There must be a lot of work to do.
M: You can say that again. So far we’ve made a promotional video and uploaded it to the website, and we’ve also put up posters around town.
W: Yeah, I saw one at the library. I’m planning on entering the contest.
M: That’s great news! We’re trying to get more people to sign up.
W: I’ll ask my brother to join the contest for sure.
M: That’ll be great. You’re both creative. I can’t wait to see the snowmen you’ll make!
W: We’ll do our best! But do you know any website that could help us think of some snowman ideas? It’d help to just see some ideas.
M: Well, I found some useful sites while organizing the contest. I can send them to you.
W: That’d be great. Thanks a lot.
